Official Rules
1. Each contestant will need to sign up prior to their competing in the contest. Signing up at the time of the first weigh in is acceptable. The sign up will include a waiver and liability release with the inclusion of a statement that the contestant is healthy enough to participate in the event. Each participant will also need to submit some brief biographical information. Each participant will have a before picture taken.
2. Children under 18 may participate in the contest provided a parent signs a liability release for them and at least one parent participates in the program as a contestant with them.
3. Weigh-ins and bodyfat testing will be every Wednesday beginning January 13, 2010 and ending April 7, 2010. The statistics taken on January 13, 2010 will constitute the beginning weight and bodyfat. The hours of bodyfat testing will be from 6AM-8:30AM and 6PM-8:30PM each Wednesday..
4. Participants may choose to start the contest after the January 13, 2010 date, but no statistics will be taken before that date. Once a participant signs up for the contest, he/she may not miss more than 3 weigh-ins or will risk being disqualified from the contest.
5. Weight will be measured with the scale provided by Healthy South Jordan and bodyfat will be tested with the handheld bioimpedence caliper also provided by Healthy South Jordan. Pounds of fat lost will be determined by the following equation: (beginning weight X begiinning %bodyfat) - (current weight X current %bodyfat) = # of fat pounds lost.
6. No liposuction or laser fat removal may be used to decrease body fat.
7. An email newsletter will be sent each week to all of the contestants with helpful tips, recipes and contest standings. All communications relevant to this contest will be conducted via email. Please make sure that we have your correct email address.
8. Winners will be notified via the contact information they have provided and prizes will be distributed at the Awards night on April 14. All prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the Healthy South Jordan Coalition Committee. No appeals process will be allowed.
